Most of us use different Gmail accounts for work, personal correspondence, and at times even a separate one just for subscriptions. However, to access these different accounts at the same time, we usually open multiple browsers. The constant switching between browsers not only gets irritating, it also slightly bogs down the computer speed. Fortunately, there is a way to access multiple Gmail accounts from only one browser. Here’s how:
Step 1: Log in to your Gmail account and click on your name at the top-right corner.
Step 2: Go to Account Settings, and in the Security panel, click the Edit link next to Multiple sign-ins.
Step 3: Select the “On-Use multiple Gmail Accounts in the same Web browser” option. Do read the conditions to understand how this process will work, and tick all the check-boxes.
Step 4: Click Save for the effects to take place, and sign out from the current account.
Step 5: Now, after you sign in to your first account, login with the additional Gmail accounts that you added in the previous step. This can be done by clicking on your user name at the top-right corner, clicking on the Switch account link, and selecting Sign into another account.
Step 6: Once you have signed in to your other account, you will see that it becomes quite easy for you to toggle between the accounts.
You can open different accounts in multiple tabs for increased convenience. Unfortunately, the above-mentioned method does not extend to some Google services (as stated by the conditions on the settings page) such as Google Docs, Blogger and Picasa. If you attempt to access these services, you will, by default, be signed in from the first. However, you can get around this by opening a new incognito window in Google Chrome (In-Private browsing in Internet Explorer, and in private browsing in Firefox), and using that window for signing in with another Gmail account.
