1. World War Z
Zombies are big right now in Pop Culture around the globe. This film shows a fictional zombie pandemic literally taking over the globe. Steamy Hollywood hunk, Brad Pitt, stars in this exciting and thrilling and downright scary adventure.
2. The Lone Ranger
Another one of Hollywood’s sexiest men alive, the timeless Johnny Depp, is nearly unrecognizable in the long awaited film remake of an old west classic. Depp stars as Tonto, the faithful Indian sidekick to the original masked man. Armie Hammer stars as The Lone Ranger.
3. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Action adventure films are not only for male audiences. The second film in The Hunger Games series will also be a hit with women and teenagers. The entire cast, including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth along with Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson, return for this intense adaptation of the Suzanne Collins book. Katniss and Peeta both have to immediately defend their Hunger Games title.
4. Iron Man 3
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is back from his spin around the block with last year’s action adventure hit, The Avengers. The brash and brilliant Stark bites off more than he can chew and goes head to head with his biggest enemy yet. His personal world is destroyed and Stark becomes Iron Man in order to gain revenge.
5. Man of Steel
Just like the Batman movie series, Superman was due for a dark overhaul. Comic fans will finally get the Superman that they wanted when Henry Cavill takes over the role as Kal-El and Zack Snyder moving into the director’s chair. Christopher Nolan, who re-popularized the Batman franchise, wrote the script and oversaw the making of the film as Producer. The new dark touch added to the Superman character makes this film the very best and most highly anticipated action adventure film of 2013. It was very hard to narrow this list down to a top five. Keep in mind some of the movies that just missed the list such as A Good Day to Die Hard, The Wolverine, Star Trek Into the Darkness, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Elysium, Oblivion and Thor: The Dark World.
